Harry Potter 6, Ireland, and Other Such Things

I have to admit, the HBP trailer makes the movie look pretty darn amazing. Whoever they cast to play Riddle... brilliant. Since David Yates directed this one too, I'm not worried that they screwed up the characters (*coughroncough*). I just hope they didn't cut it insanely short this time.

I was looking at Ireland tours last night, which is nothing new, but for some reason I went over the top with excitement this time. Since my travel plans never work out (or any plans for that matter), I am absolutely determined to get to Ireland within the next year, no matter the sacrifices.

I have to move out of the apartment tomorrow. I hate moving. And I just realized how much I've been missing out on this summer, but I don't really care for some reason. I suppose that's good in the sense that I don't regret it, but bad in the sense that I keep telling myself I'll have other opportunities, when in reality time is too short.

Summer school is over on Saturday. I'm absolutely terrified of the final. God, I despise math. Like my favorite teacher ever Swanson says: "Calculus? Who cares about calculus?"

I Really...

...need to see what Comic Con is all about. Seriously.

Oh well, next year.

Why am I always so behind?

Tagged

Becca tagged me for this:

Directions: Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 16 random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave them a comment ("you're it") and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you.

1. I probably like His Dark Materials better than Harry Potter.

2. Arizona and Lipton teas are my favorite drinks.

3. My goal is to study abroad for grad school, since too much moving around and a serious lack of funds would probably make it impossible during my undergrad years.

4. I want to go to volunteer abroad in either Iceland or Ireland next year. Of course, both would be nice. :)

5. I'm addicted to reading articles and blogs on psychologytoday.com

6. I can't, for the life of me, tell when someone likes me.

7. No offense to some people, but I really don't like NorCal.

8. I'm such a cat freak. I honestly don't understand people who don't like cats. If I don't get married or get divorced, I would happily become a cat lady.

9. Jalapeno cheddar bagels are my new favorite food.

10. I'm pretty convinced that Jon Foreman is a god. Now if only he would cut his hair...

11. To expand on #10, "Golden" was the one song that got me through my first two quarters at college.

12. I believe drinking was meant to be a social thing. I enjoy doing it when friends are around, otherwise I don't bother.

13. Kirby is, hands down, my favorite character in Smash. Anyone who's played with me can tell you. My other favorites are Toon Link, Wario, and Meta Knight.

14. With a few exceptions, I usually prefer hanging out with guys, or at least a mix.

15. I actually love dressing up, since I rarely do it.

16. I've been on 8 Southwest round trip flights in the last year. Needless to say, I'm utterly sick of flying.

Who I tagged and why:
Cassandra - because I'm just curious as to what random facts she would write for the world to see.
Morgan - because I'm sure she can come up with some random stories about her adventures in the Motherland.
Yasi - because she probably needs something like this to do. :)
Karin - because I'd like to get to know her better.
Tony - because... he's Tony. :P
Wilhelm - because of the accent. ^_^
Matt - because I'm sure he could make his five times as long as mine.
Ian - because we're suddenly like best friends.
Victor G. - just to see if he would actually do it.
Amber - because I'd like to see what philosophical things she can come up with.

Pink Tux to the Prom

Today was uneventful, minus the fact that after school Jack and I went to the plaza on Villa La Jolla to get a job application, and then we somehow ended up eating lunch at CPK and skipping office hours. ><

It looks like I'll have to go back to Davis after all. Problem is, will they let me, and is my financial aid still there? Bah. Oh well, not as big a deal as it was yesterday. I felt like I was going through motion sickness after a few hours of frustration.

I still want to say this though:

FUCK YOU, UC SYSTEM.

All better.

Okay, I'm More Than Just a Tad Pissed Off

My education plans have pretty much been shattered these past two days. Basically, don't listen to me when I talk about my future anymore. -__-

I Am Just a Tad Pissed Off

Apparently you have to be in good academic standing in order to transfer to another UC. Now I either have to a) Take two more classes next summer session, which cuts into fall semester by two weeks or b) Take the classes next summer, but transfer in late, not get to spend as much time there, and possibly have to graduate a little later.

Dammit.

Saturday was a lot of fun, at least. I picked Cassandra up early and we wandered around the plaza. We stopped at Petco and there was a cat adoption event. SO cute. :P There was a group of four cats (a mom and her three kittens) that I just wanted to take home right there and then. *squeals at the thought of having four cats*

...Okay, I don't squeal. But I love cats, so shut up.

Anyways, we headed off to Wil's house afterwards for his party, and at first I felt kind of uncomfortable because there were tons of people there that I didn't know. We first went to the pool, but since Grace and I didn't have our suits we headed back to play Smash. I must say that was the best hour (or two) of the party, especially when everyone else came back and we had a mini-tournament (in which I pwned as Kirby...most of the time). Afterwards was kind of a blur, in which random activities were going on around the house and I just went back and forth. When it came time to leave, I drove Cassandra to her house, and we ended up sitting outside in my car for nearly two hours talking about "life, the universe, and everything else." That translates to "our cursed, awkward, and overwhelming dilemmas," by the way.

Bleh. I don't know what to do about school. It's enough to make me want to just drop out of college. -__-

So...

I guess I just decided to start one of these. What the hell, right? I doubt anyone goes on Xanga anymore.

I'm kinda freaking out right now because I don't know what I'm supposed to do over the next school year, or if I can finish all my requirements within a year, though from all my research it doesn't seem to be a problem. I just wish Davis would send my freaking transcript already so that I can talk to a counselor. I suppose I can just go straight to SD to talk to someone to alleviate my worries in the meantime.

Eh, I don't really have anything else to talk about. I haven't done much this summer besides watch Lost obsessively (if you've never watched it, I warn you, DO NOT START) and deal with constant headaches from trying to figure out calculus. I wish calc would die. DIE.

Tomorrow's Wilhelm's birthday party, so I'm looking forward to finally getting some decent social interaction.
